OVERVIEW
Libya's largest operating refinery, about 40km west of Tripoli, run by Zawia Oil Refining Company (a National Oil Corporation subsidiary) and fed by the 300,000 b/d Sharara oilfield. Rated capacity is 120,000 b/d; the facility has faced periodic shutdowns from fighting in the area (most recently in May 2026) but resumed full operations by mid-May 2026.
